Rumors about Erik ten Hag’s future at Manchester United have been rife after two disastrous seasons as Red Devils manager, with Thomas Tuchel the favorite to replace him.
Speculation surrounding Erik ten Hag’s future as Manchester United manager is intensifying as the season draws to a close.
Ten Hag led United to a disappointing season, finishing bottom of their Champions League group, missing out on a place in the top four and being eliminated in the fourth round of the League Cup.
They still have a chance to win the FA Cup, but they need to beat rivals Manchester City to do so. Ten Hag’s position looks increasingly precarious, with his suitor Thomas Tuchel hinting that he could remain at Bayern Munich.

Neville backs keeping ten Hag
Gary Neville believes Erik ten Hag will stay in Manchester beyond the end of the season. The Dutchman spoke to Sky Sports on Friday and Neville believes this shows he is committed to staying in his position.
“I thought he was very assured. “Obviously everyone else around him has gone at senior management level – the CEO, the technical director’s been shifted, the CFO’s gone, the interim CEO, John Murtough’s gone – so there’s been a lot of change at the club,” he said.
“I felt as though he was assured, he was very calm, but obviously he’s been under quite a lot of pressure recently. He talked about how big the FA Cup fnal is in a few weeks, that’s a season-defining game.
Tuchel’s doubts about replacing Ten Hag grow.
Manchester United executives are getting concerned about Thomas Tuchel’s history of clashes with club officials. Tuchel has emerged as a major candidate to replace Erik ten Hag, who is likely to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season.
That would make him available for free in the summer if United replaced Ten Hag. However, there appears to be rising worry about Tuchel’s departure from his previous roles.
His stint at Mainz came to an end after a disagreement with directors over transfer funds, and he was fired by Borussia Dortmund after a breakdown in trust between himself and the club’s board. Prior to leaving PSG, he also had a falling out with the club’s sporting director.
