South Carolina WNBA Stars Enter Week 15 With A’ja Wilson Making History and Laeticia Amihere Breaking Through

South Carolina’s WNBA alumni are heading into Week 15 with several storylines worth watching, but none is bigger than A’ja Wilson continuing to climb the league’s record books.

Wilson’s production remains extraordinary for the Las Vegas Aces, while Laeticia Amihere delivered the biggest individual performance of her WNBA career for Golden State.

Kamilla Cardoso is also putting together a strong stretch for Chicago, while Aliyah Boston remains one of Indiana’s most important pieces despite sitting out the Fever’s latest game.

The latest week offered a mix of historic production, emerging roles and difficult rotation situations for former Gamecocks across the league.

A’ja Wilson keeps adding to an already remarkable WNBA résumé

Wilson remains the centerpiece of Las Vegas, averaging 26.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.0 blocks through 36 games.

She is shooting 40.7% from three-point range while playing 32.1 minutes per game.

Her latest three-game stretch included 27 points and 14 rebounds against Atlanta, 20 points against Connecticut and 27 points, seven rebounds and seven assists against Toronto.

The numbers are impressive on their own, but Wilson’s latest milestones put her production into a larger historical context.

She recorded her 191st career game with at least 20 points, which ranks second all time.

She also reached 100 career games with at least 25 points, another mark that places her second in league history.

Wilson has also produced 18 20-point double-doubles this season.

That total is twice as many as second-place Angel Reese and exceeds the combined total of the next two players.

For Las Vegas, Wilson’s consistency is more than a statistical achievement.

The Aces are 26-13, leaving them positioned among the league’s strongest teams heading into the final stretch.

Laeticia Amihere finally gets her opportunity — and makes it count

Amihere’s Week 15 performance may have been the most encouraging development among South Carolina’s younger WNBA players.

After receiving a DNP-CD against Minnesota, the Golden State forward responded against Chicago with a career-best performance.

She played 24 minutes, tying her career high in playing time, and scored 16 points while grabbing six rebounds.

Most notably, Amihere shot a perfect 7-for-7 from the field.

The seven made field goals and 16 points were both career highs.

That efficiency is particularly significant because Amihere has spent much of the season in a limited role.

She is averaging 3.5 points and 3.3 rebounds in 11.5 minutes per game across 31 appearances.

The Chicago game showed what can happen when Golden State gives her enough time to impact the game physically.

Her rebounding, interior finishing and defensive activity give the Valkyries another type of frontcourt option when she is on the floor.

The bigger question now is whether that performance earns Amihere a more consistent role during Golden State’s remaining games.

The Valkyries enter the week at 25-11 and have four games scheduled, giving Amihere several opportunities to build on the performance.

Kamilla Cardoso continues to provide stability for Chicago

Cardoso has quietly put together one of the stronger stretches of her WNBA season.

The former South Carolina star is averaging 14.7 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 blocks through 37 games.

She has also started every game she has played.

Cardoso recorded three consecutive double-doubles during the latest stretch, reinforcing her value as a two-way interior presence for Chicago.

She had 17 points and 12 rebounds against New York before following that with 14 points and 10 rebounds against Golden State.

She then finished with 11 points, six rebounds and two blocks against Indiana.

Chicago’s 15-23 record does not fully reflect Cardoso’s individual progress.

Her ability to rebound, protect the rim and contribute offensively gives the Sky a dependable interior foundation.

She currently ranks among the WNBA’s top five in blocks, another indication of how important her defensive presence has become.

Aliyah Boston remains central to Indiana’s push

Boston continues to be one of the Fever’s most productive players.

She is averaging 17.0 points, 8.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.2 blocks and 1.5 steals while shooting 41.7% from three.

Her week included 16 points, six rebounds and three blocks against Toronto, followed by 14 points and nine rebounds against Dallas.

She then produced 22 points and six assists against New York.

Boston did not play against Chicago as Indiana managed a 113-90 victory.

The Fever listed her as out with a sore right leg, with the absence allowing Bree Hall to be activated for the third time this season.

Hall played only one minute but made it count, hitting her only three-point attempt.

Indiana sits at 25-14, just behind Atlanta in the standings.

Boston’s availability will therefore be an important storyline as the Fever continue their push toward the postseason.

Allisha Gray continues to fill every column

Gray remains one of Atlanta’s most reliable contributors.

She is averaging 19.4 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.3 steals while starting all 37 games.

Her latest three-game stretch demonstrated the all-around value she brings.

Gray scored 21 points with six rebounds, three assists and three steals against Las Vegas.

She followed that with 13 points against Los Angeles before producing 17 points, five rebounds and four assists against Phoenix.

Atlanta has climbed to 24-13 and currently holds fourth place.

That position gives the Dream an important advantage heading toward the postseason, with Indiana sitting immediately behind them.

Madina Okot has also become more impactful after returning to Atlanta’s rotation.

She produced 12 points and six rebounds in 17 minutes against Los Angeles and has shown an ability to contribute efficiently in limited minutes.

Te-Hina Paopao is still working her way back from a leg injury, but her perimeter shooting showed signs of returning.

She went 2-for-4 from three against Los Angeles and later hit her only attempt against Phoenix.

Other Gamecocks face very different situations

Ta’Niya Latson remains a developmental player with Las Vegas after previously spending time with Los Angeles.

She has appeared in seven games for the Aces, averaging 4.3 points in 7.1 minutes.

Raven Johnson and Tyasha Harris remain part of Indiana’s rotation but have had difficulty finding consistent statistical impact.

Johnson is averaging 3.1 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 10.6 minutes.

Harris is averaging 4.1 points and 2.0 assists in 14.0 minutes.

Zia Cooke is averaging 7.4 points in 14.8 minutes for Seattle, which enters the week at 7-31.

Sania Feagin’s season is already over after Portland announced that she tore her left ACL.

She underwent surgery on July 22.

The Week 15 games to watch

Several former Gamecocks will be in action multiple times this week.

For South Carolina fans, Amihere may be the player worth watching most closely.

Her 16-point, 7-for-7 performance showed that she can make a substantial impact when given an extended opportunity.

Wilson, meanwhile, continues to operate on an entirely different historical level.

With the postseason approaching, the most compelling question is no longer whether South Carolina’s WNBA stars can contribute.

It is how much bigger their roles can become before the games matter most.

For Week 15, the biggest South Carolina WNBA story remains A’ja Wilson’s historic production, while Laeticia Amihere has given the Gamecocks another reason to watch closely.
