South Carolina women’s basketball continues to pursue some of the nation’s top young talent, and two of the Gamecocks’ biggest recruiting targets have added another impressive achievement to their résumés.
Nike unveiled its inaugural All-EYBL Team this week, recognizing the standout performers from the summer’s highly competitive EYBL circuit. Among the players selected were five-star prospects Jezelle “GG” Banks and Jordyn Palmer, both of whom are major targets for Dawn Staley and South Carolina.
Staley has been busy on the recruiting trail throughout the summer, making it clear that building for the future remains a top priority. The Gamecocks are considered one of the schools firmly in the mix for both elite recruits.
Banks and Palmer, members of the 2027 recruiting class, each hold scholarship offers from South Carolina and have shown strong interest in the program. They recently confirmed plans to take official visits to Columbia, giving the Gamecocks an important opportunity to strengthen their relationships with both players.
Banks is also scheduled to visit LSU, Texas, and Ohio State. Additional visits could still be added, although no further plans have been announced.
Palmer, meanwhile, has official visits lined up with South Carolina and Ohio State. She is also considering trips to UCLA, Maryland, and Penn State.
Both prospects rank among the nation’s elite according to the Rivals Industry Ranking.
Banks is ranked as the No. 4 overall player in the 2027 class. She is regarded as the nation’s top combo guard, the No. 2 point guard depending on positional classification, and the No. 1 player in Delaware.
Palmer sits one spot behind at No. 5 nationally. She is rated as the country’s No. 2 small forward and the top overall player in Pennsylvania.
Landing either player would be a significant recruiting victory for South Carolina, but securing commitments from both would further solidify the Gamecocks’ reputation as one of the premier destinations for elite women’s basketball talent under Dawn Staley.
