COLUMBIA, S.C. – Yeah, it’s a big one. No. 10 South Carolina (9-1-2, 3-0-1 SEC) is finally back at Stone Stadium Thursday night, and they’re not easing in—it’s No. 7 Arkansas (6-2-2, 4-0-0 SEC) rolling into town for a heavyweight SEC brawl. Kickoff’s at 7 p.m. (ESPNU, for the couch crowd).
Last Game: Corner Kicks & Clean Sheets, Baby
So, last road trip? The Gamecocks basically mugged Oklahoma: 2-0, both goals off corners, both in the blink of an eye late second half. Not a bad way to ruin someone’s home game.
- 56th minute: Sophomore Kylie Cino whips a cross, Katie Shea Collins heads it in. Textbook stuff.
- Sixty seconds later—yep, just a minute—Cuyler Zulauf sends in another corner, Taylor Bloom climbs the ladder and nods it home. That’s how you crush momentum.
- Collins? She’s up to eight goals (yep, team-high). Bloom’s got two now.
- First assists of the season for both Cino and Zulauf. Not too shabby.
- Here’s the fun stat: Carolina’s a perfect 9-0 when they score first. Don’t let ‘em get ahead, basically.
- Defense? Absolutely smothering—nine shutouts and counting.
- Senior keeper Tina Tsaousis is living her best life: six clean sheets, rock-bottom .282 GAA (that’s 3rd best in America, tops in the SEC), and a .870 save rate (SEC’s silver medalist there).
- Oh, and Collins is straight-up clutch: five game-winners, most in the country.
Razorbacks: The Lowdown
- This’ll be the 27th time these squads have thrown down.
- Carolina still owns the series, 16–7–3, but, uh, Arkansas has taken the last three. So yeah, there’s a score to settle.
- The Hogs are cruising in SEC play, just dropped Ole Miss 4–1.
- Offensively, keep your eyes on freshman Vailana Tu’ua—she leads ‘em with eight points, three goals (same as senior Zoe Susi).
So yeah, Thursday night’s shaping up to be spicy. If you’re near Columbia and you miss it, don’t blame me when you hear about it all week.
Oh, you want a tweet-length hype line or some clickbait for your site? I can whip that up, just say the word.
