Struggling with memories tied to California, Ward may seek a fresh start elsewhere, with the Detroit Lions emerging as a potential landing spot.
Ward had a strong 2023 season, earning a Pro Bowl selection and second-team All-Pro honors. However, his 2024 campaign saw a dip in performance, with a 61% completion percentage allowed and five touchdowns surrendered.
Despite the recent decline, Ward’s talent and potential make him a valuable free agent target. The Lions, who ranked 30th against the pass last season, are well-positioned to sign the cornerback, with an estimated $51 million in salary cap space.
