Former Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand believes that Luke Shaw shouldn’t be upset if the club decides to find a replacement for him next season due to his ongoing injury issues.

The 28-year-old attempted to return in time for the FA Cup final against Manchester City but was unable to make it. As a result, Shaw ended the season with just 15 appearances for United.

“They’ve got to get a fit Shaw and Lisandro Martinez next season and games out of them both,” Ferdinand stated on his YouTube channel. “I don’t think Shaw could be disgruntled if United said because of his lack of game time over the last course of your time here, we’re going to find another left back.”
Ferdinand added, “I don’t think he could grumble at that. But I think he’s that good when he plays that they will go again [with him].”
