The Georgia Bulldogs appear to be falling behind in the race to land elite 2026 five-star quarterback Jared Curtis, according to a new report.
Curtis, a highly sought-after 6-foot-4, 225-pound prospect from Nashville, TN, is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 3 quarterback and the No. 7 overall player in the 2026 class.
Although Curtis was previously committed to Georgia, he decommitted in October. The Bulldogs have remained in pursuit, but On3’s Steve Wiltfong reports that the Oregon Ducks now have the upper hand in the recruitment.
“Curtis spoke positively about Georgia last week,” Wiltfong noted on Tuesday. “However, after speaking with multiple sources, I believe Oregon has the momentum. He has built a strong connection with offensive coordinator Will Stein, visited Eugene twice, and was impressed by head coach Dan Lanning’s in-home visit in January. Oregon seems to be gaining ground.”
South Carolina is also in contention, but the primary competition appears to be between Georgia and Oregon.
With plenty of time left in the recruiting process, Georgia still has a chance to reclaim the lead. Upcoming visits in the spring and summer will be crucial in determining where Curtis ultimately lands.
