Alabama Football Transfer Justin Okoronkwo Commits to South Carolina Gamecocks
In a surprising move, Alabama Crimson Tide linebacker Justin Okoronkwo has announced his commitment to join the South Carolina Gamecocks for the 2025 season. Okoronkwo, who was a true freshman in 2024, entered the NCAA transfer portal earlier this month following Alabama’s loss to the Michigan Wolverines in the ReliaQuest Bowl.
During his lone season with the Crimson Tide, Okoronkwo primarily played a special teams role, recording 14 tackles and one tackle for loss. Prior to joining Alabama, the three-star linebacker was an international prospect hailing from Germany.
Looking ahead, Okoronkwo will have the opportunity to face his former team as early as next season, as Alabama is scheduled to travel to South Carolina on October 25th. The game time is still to be determined.
